Accounts Assistant | Hoddesdon | Construction | Up to £25,000

A permanent Accounts Assistant role for a construction based company based in Hoddesdon, offering up to £25,000 and progression pathways.

Your New Company

You’ll be working for a close knit team based at this construction company’s head office in Hoddesdon. This company offers excellent progression that can be seen across the current team. This is a new role due to an internal promotion.

You’ll be working closely with the rest of the team to learn the ropes across Sales Ledger, picking up Purchase Ledger and Cash Management along the way.

Your New Role

You’ll be working as an Accounts Assistant and will be responsible for:

  • Opening and credit checking new customer accounts
  • Maintaining the mailboxes in relation to any queries
  • Chasing overdue invoices and obtaining payment dates where possible
  • Raising and sending out invoices and credit notes accordingly
  • Allocating cash to customer accounts as per payments received
  • Providing reports of overdue debt
  • Liaising with other members of the team and customers to resolve queries
  • As hoc purchase ledger and banking duties

About You

You’ll need to be enthusiastic and willing to learn! Any decent of Excel will be beneficial but a basic understanding that can be worked on will be considered.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for somebody looking for their first role within Finance – whether you’ve finished school, college or university and want to get into the field, or have an administrative background and are looking to change careers.

Excellent communication skills are key as you’ll be a point of contact for both customers and colleagues, resolving queries and providing reports for Senior Management.

Good workload management is essential! Being able to prioritise incoming work against your current workload appropriately is crucial to ensure customers are getting the consistently high service levels they’re used to!

What You Will Get in Return

  • £22,000 – £25,000 per annum salary
