Our client, a Construction business based in the City, are looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis. They plan to double the business in the next 5 years and are looking to secure someone who wants to be part of that journey.

 

Reporting to the Group FC, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable function, while maintaining strong internal and external relationships, optimising financial processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

The role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH (though expected to be in the office full time while training).

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the accounts payable team of 5
  • Develop and implement accounts payable procedures
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Vendors, Subcontractors and Project Managers
  • Schedule and hold periodic reviews with Project Managers in terms of billing
  • Prepare and present analytical reports on the accounts payable function to the CFO
  • Oversee verification of subcontractors under the CIS scheme
  • Oversee the accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts payable transactions in the financial system
  • Prepare weekly payment runs
  • Assist in the optimisation of accounting software systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Assist with cash flow requirements
  • Collaborate with the finance team in the month-end and year-end closing processes

 

The ideal candidate will come from a Construction company background and have previous supervisor experience. You will have excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with clients plus internal teams. Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritise and complete multiple tasks within deadlines is essential.
