A well established hospitality organisation is seeking a Financial Controller to manage the finances of one of their hotels in Central London.
Based in London, our client is a highly reputable business. As well as being able to claim that they are a market leader in their fieldeld, the firm also manage a prestigious portfolio in a variety of different sectors including retailers. They are large enough to handle complex assignments while also being able to retain their ability to give clients the personal attention they need.
This is a key role within the hotel and will report to and work with the Hotel Manager and Group Financial Controller. The varied nature of the role offers excellent all round exposure as well as a clear route for progression for high-performing staff to progress in the organisation.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
Production of Monthly Management accounts pack and monthly balance sheet reconciliation for the hotel
Effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department (Accounts payable, receivable, procurement, purchasing, stores, and income audit)
Preparation of annual budget, analysing and forecasting on weekly and monthly basis.
Managing Food & Beverage costs, maintenance of expenses to be in line with the budget and additionally, departmental budget and payroll expenses to be in line with the revenue generation.
Attend daily meetings with senior staff to discuss financial performance and advise on any other matters.
A successful candidate will have prior experience of managing a team of staff. Experience in the hotel industry with a minimum of 150 rooms. Ideally candidates will be either ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified/part-qualified. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
Excellent numerical skills
High level of accuracy and attention the detail
Effective organisation and time management
Ability to delegate and communicate effectively
Pro-active and take initiative
Competent IT skills including Excel, SAP and SUN
Able to commute easily to and around London
