Accountant/Finance Manager
Hitchin
Circa 35k

Based in Hitchin, my client is currently seeking an experienced Accountant/Finance Manager to head up their small, professional finance team within the companys fast paced head office. Amongst other duties, you will be responsible and accountable for monthly management accounts, ongoing business reporting/analysis and providing support to the Operations Director.

With a competitive salary, the ideal candidate will have strong experience within a similar SME environment, the ability to hit the ground running and work in a self-motivated manner. If you are an organised individual with the ability to communicate effectively and provide a positive and focused attitude then this would be a fantastic opportunity for you.

Key accountabilities:
Preparing monthly financial and management accounts
Variance analysis
Calculation of accruals, prepayments and deprecation
Maintenance of Fixed Asset register
Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
Analysis and reporting of company performance
Producing ad-hoc management information to assist decision making
Cash flow forecasting
Weekly/Monthly KPI reporting
Ad-hoc project work and reporting
Reporting and analysis as required
Supervision and recruitment of a small finance team
Support and cover other members of the Finance Team as required

Your experience/abilities:
AAT / QBE (Qualified by Experience) or Part Qualified Accountant
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent IT skills with strong competency in Excel
Good inter-personal skills
Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing workloads
