A well established mid-tier Accountancy practice in London are looking for an experienced Accounts & Outsourcing Manager to join their department managing a team of eight staff members and steer this growing department.
Based in London, our client is a well established and highly reputable mid-tier firm based in London. They provide accountancy, tax and compliance services to businesses and individuals across the UK and are specialists in a range of sectors, including the media, sporting and creative professions.
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Accounts & Outsourcing Manager to join an their outsourcing department, managing a team of eight staff members and steer their growing outsourcing department in London. The role may also involve travelling to clients. The role will involve working with a range of SME businesses across many sectors including retail, restaurants, fashion as well as many others.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
Ensuring timely management accounts are completed on a monthly or quarterly basis
Liaising with clients and managing staff to ensure that VAT returns, EC sales lists and Intrastat supplementary declarations are prepared and submitted on a timely basis each month/quarter;
Liaising with partners and other managers to ensure that client work is scheduled and providing weekly updates;
Training and assisting staff on a day to day basis and reviewing their work;
Analysing costs and ensuring that timely fee invoices are sent to clients for ongoing work;
Assisting with staff appraisals;
Meeting potential new clients and providing fee quotes;
Implementation of accounting procedures and systems for new and existing clients and providing systems advice.
Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and tax matters
Arrange and chair regular meetings with department staff to share knowledge and improve efficiency;
Recruitment for internal staff and clients.
A successful candidate will need a high level of education and prior experience of managing a team of staff. In addition the successful candidate will be either ACCA or ACA/CA Qualified and will need to have at least 3 years relevant managerial experience working in a firm of accountants and managing at least 5 staff. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
Good VAT knowledge including experience of dealing with EC transactions including reverse charge, EC sales lists, margin scheme and Intrastat supplementary declarations;
Experience of completing and submitting CIS returns;
Detailed knowledge of Sage Line 50 and a good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks,
Kashflow and Sage One, with a strong understanding of cloud accounting and bookkeeping;
Efficient and well organised individual;
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure;
Pro-active and forward thinking;
Able to commute in and around London
